Position: Visual Arts (2-D) Criticism and Instruction Expert

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $55–$80/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided):

  • Evaluate and critique digital artworks with professional insight into artistic intent, composition, and stylistic influence.
  • Assess originality, technical execution, and contextual presentation quality, including lighting and digitization.
  • Provide structured, evidence-based feedback to help AI systems better understand and replicate artistic reasoning.
  • Distinguish authentic, human-made artwork from AI-generated imagery through detailed evaluation.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to refine datasets supporting creativity and authorship analysis.

Requirements:

  • Strong professional experience as a visual arts instructor, curator, or art director.
  • Demonstrated expertise in two-dimensional media such as illustration, painting, photography, or digital art.
  • Proven ability to critique artwork with depth, precision, and fairness.
  • Strong written communication and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Familiarity with digital art, portfolio presentation, and emerging AI-generated art trends.
  • A portfolio reflecting artistic competence and critical discernment.
