Position: Exceptional Junior Software Engineer
Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles
Type: Hourly Contract
Compensation: $50–$150/hour (based on experience and location)
Location: Remote
Duration: Initial 1–2 months (with strong potential for extension)
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)
- Design and implement complex database schem as to support advanced AI workflows.
- Build, test, and integrate sophisticated APIS for secure and scalable systems.
- Develop and deploy authentication mechanisms, policy enforcement, and backend frameworks.
- Populate environments with synthetic data optimized for Reinforcement Learning models.
- Ensure applications are performant, secure, and modular, while adapting to unique RL constraints.
- Work asynchronously and independently with flexible scheduling.
Requirements
- Strong professional software engineering experience at top-tier startups, quantitative trading firms, hedge funds, or similarly high-performance environments
- Proven success in designing and/or leading database schema development.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database structuring
- Expertise in API development (creation, testing, and integration)
- Exceptional problem-solving ability with close attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Access to a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks not supported).
