Position: Governance & Trust – Safety Specialist
Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $47–$90/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated outputs against defined safety criteria such as bias, misinformation, unsafe reasoning, and disallowed content.
- Apply harm taxonomies and safety guidelines consistently, including in ambiguous or edge-case scenarios.
- Document reasoning clearly to support guideline refinement and model improvement.
- Contribute high-quality human judgment data that supports AI safety research, audits, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate asynchronously with research and safety teams to improve evaluation frameworks and outcomes.
Requirements
- Background in trust & safety, governance, policy, risk, or safety-related frameworks.
- Experience translating abstract policies or regulations into practical evaluation criteria.
- Familiarity with safety-by-design principles, harm taxonomies, or regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical judgment and ability to make consistent decisions in nuanced situations.
- Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, project-based environment.
