Role Responsibilities

  • Write original, advanced International Astronomy Olympiad-style problems designed to challenge frontier AI models.
  • Evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, clarity, rigor, and logical consistency.
  • Identify reasoning gaps, flawed derivations, and insufficiently rigorous arguments.
  • Provide clear, complete, and correct solutions formatted in LaTeX.
  • Maintain extremely high standards of scientific precision and problem difficulty.
  • Contribute subject-matter expertise to improve AI reasoning in astronomy and astrophysics.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Astronomy or a closely related field, OR participation/medalist experience in astronomy Olympiads (e.g., IAO or equivalent competitions).
  • Strong proficiency in LaTeX for writing and formatting technical documents.
  • Deep understanding of theoretical and observational astronomy and astrophysics.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex derivations and reasoning in written form.
  • Strong capability to evaluate rigor, complexity, and correctness of advanced astronomy problems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in verifying solutions and mathematical derivations.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, research-focused environment.
