Responsibilities

  • Conduct market risk analysis in the area of asset liability management, foreign exchange, collateral trading or tactical interest rate positioning to improve risk capture or presentation to committees of the company.
  • Contribute towards improvement of risk reports, both conceptually and by leading design and implementation to provide better risk insights.
  • Collaborate closely with the other global Market Risk Management teams for efficient delivery of high-quality analytical work.
  • Liaise with Asset Management, Treasury and other business functions to articulate actionable feedback on events, exposures and issues that impact Swiss Re's risk profile.

About the Team

The MRM Treasury & Rates team plays a fundamental role for Risk Management with respect to the Group's Asset Liability Management. Specifically: exercising a key review role of the Asset Management risk budgeting framework, and leading risk-taking oversight of the Group's Rates team, which manages the Group's tactical interest rate positions, agency bonds investments, as well as municipal bond mandates. The team is also charged with leading Risk Management's oversight of Treasury's foreign exchange positioning as well as market exposures arising from its long-term and short-term funding activities, including securities lending and repo activities. The team itself is located in London and Zurich and works very closely to tight deadlines. As a Market Risk Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with other risk managers and 1st lines function on topics that contribute to our mandate of the risk oversight and accumulation control. About You

We are looking for an open-minded, detail oriented and enthusiastic team player who can constructively and respectfully engage in challenging conversations. To be successful, you need to have strong communication skills as well as a high degree of self-motivation. Are you at ease with leaving the comfort zone and performing under pressure? Do you consider yourself to be a "self-starter", able and willing to take initiative and implement measures in a goal-oriented manner with:

  • Good academic track record in Engineering, Finance or Mathematics.
  • Solid technical skills with proven programming experience (advanced data wrangling and integration, estimation and simulation techniques) to at least one scripting language (preferably R).
  • Some years of experience in the financial services sector with a good understanding of financial products valuation, including yield curve construction and derivative valuation models.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global team setting.

Salary

For London, the base salary range for this position is between 60,000 GBP and 90,000 GBP for a full-time role. The specific salary offered considers the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, as well as the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience. In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.

Work Arrangement

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
