Join us as a Longevity Inforce Management Actuarial Analyst to gain hands-on experience supporting a fast-growing area of reinsurance, helping manage the financial risks associated with people living longer than expected.

In this role, you\\\’ll work on Swiss Re\\\’s global portfolio of longevity reinsurance, where we help pension schemes and life insurers transfer the risk of individuals outliving their life expectancy. This is a strategically important and evolving area, offering you exposure to real-world actuarial challenges, collaboration across teams, and the chance to make an early impact in your career.

About the Role

As part of the Longevity In Force Management (LIFM) team, you\\\’ll report to the Actuarial Lead of the LIFM team and support the day-to-day running and long-term success of Swiss Re\\\’s existing longevity business. You\\\’ll work closely with colleagues across Swiss Re and develop a deep understanding of how reinsurance treaties perform over time.

In this role you will:

  • Process and validate data received from clients including claims, premiums and settlement amounts
  • Calculate the required collateral to be held for each reinsurance treaty
  • Monitor treaty performance to assess profitability and ensure assumptions remain appropriate
  • Carry out experience studies and impact analysis to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with teams across Swiss Re as well as external cedants to help manage the day-to-day longevity operations
  • Use the knowledge and expertise you develop in this role to support regional teams around the world
  • Contribute to process improvements and development of automated tools so the team can scale effectively as the business continues to grow

The Longevity Inforce Management (LIFM) team plays a central role in managing Swiss Re\\\’s large and expanding longevity portfolio. Our goal is to ensure that the business we\\\’ve already written continues to deliver long-term value – through accurate data, insightful analysis, and strong operational processes.

We work globally, collaborating with teams across Pricing, Sales, Valuation, and more. Our team thrives on problem-solving, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. We\\\’re a motivated and supportive group who value curiosity, creativity, and learning from each other.

About You

You\’re a curious and motivated analyst who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and continuously looking for ways to improve how things are done. You have good attention to detail and have a strong interest in using programming languages to automate the process. You take ownership of your work, ask thoughtful questions, and enjoy collaborating with others to make an impact. You\’re excited to grow your actuarial career in a real-world business setting.

  • Progress toward an actuarial or data analyst qualification
  • Comfortable working with numbers, analysing datasets, and interpreting results
