As Senior Manager, Learning Design, you will play a pivotal role within the global HR team, reporting to the Director, Learning & Talent. You will lead a global team of instructional designers responsible for creating high‐quality, modern learning experiences that strengthen our capabilities across business and functional academies. Your work will directly support our strategic learning agenda and reinforce Swiss Re's commitment to Business Drive, Execution Power, Applied Intellect, and Swiss Re Spirit.

You will partner with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver learning solutions that meet evolving business needs, appeal to a diverse and global workforce, and drive practical, measurable outcomes. What You’ll Do

  • Lead a global learning design team, driving engagement, performance, and development in alignment with our Culture Forces.
  • Foster a culture that reflects Swiss Re Spirit — collaborative, inclusive, and purpose‐driven.
  • Build trusted relationships with Academy leaders and the broader Talent & Culture team.
  • Role‐model Business Drive by ensuring learning solutions directly support business goals and capability needs.
  • Develop learning design strategies that are flexible, scalable, and learner‐centric, meeting the unique needs of our global organisation.
  • Integrate innovative technologies and modern approaches that elevate learning effectiveness and reflect Applied Intellect.
  • Continually explore new design methods, tools, and technologies to ensure Swiss Re stays at the forefront of learning innovation—demonstrating Execution Power in delivering solutions that work.
  • Apply agile ways of working to respond to changing business requirements, resource shifts, and new priorities.
  • Leverage data and insights to measure learning effectiveness and ensure that solutions achieve intended business impact.

About You

  • Solid experience in Learning & Development, with deep expertise in instructional design for learning, leadership, and talent programs.
  • Proven experience leading teams, demonstrating a global mindset and strong cultural intelligence.
  • Advanced proficiency with eLearning tools such as Captivate, Articulate 360, Vyond, and Synthesia.
  • Accreditation with key assessment instruments including MBTI, Hogan, TMP, DISC, etc.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and the 70/20/10 model.
  • Experience with Learning Experience Platforms (ideally 360Learning).
  • Deep sensitivity to cultural, linguistic, and regional learning needs, with ability to tailor solutions while maintaining global consistency and inclusivity.

Compensation & Work Model

The base salary range for this position is between 72,000 GBP and 108,000 GBP (full time equivalent). The specific salary offered considers: the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role; the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience; Hybrid working model with a minimum of three days per week in the office.

We are ideally looking to hire this position in London, Zurich, Bangalore and Bratislava.
