What will you be doing?

  • Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and established standards.
  • Prepare and cook a well-balanced, nutritious, and tasty diet.
  • Provide for our residents’ preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Maintain a clean environment in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
  • Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and care team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Help in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use.

What experience do you need?

  • Previous experience as a Cook or similar role in a food service establishment desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A passion for cooking and baking creating delicious meals, desserts, and snacks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • A cooking qualification and Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, and there will be opportunities for further training and development.

Where you will be working

Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will join a supportive and highly professional team. Part-time shift work, working a mix of weekend and weekdays 7:00-15:00 or 7:00-19:00.
