Role Overview We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our distillery and gin school operations. This is a key role responsible for ensuring smooth business operations across finance, administration, compliance, production planning, and customer experience. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting business performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving efficiency. Key Responsibilities Finance & Accounting Manage all day-to-day accounting activities including purchase and sales ledger, invoicing, and reconciliations Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements Oversee cash flow management and financial controls Maintain accurate records using Sage accounting software Administration Oversee all administrative functions to ensure smooth business operations Manage order processing across multiple sales channels Handle customer and supplier queries professionally and efficiently Ensure efficient coordination between production, sales, and marketing functions Assist production team lead to plan production schedules to meet demand and business targets Monitor stock levels and order materials from suppliers, ensuring stock is available when required for production Compliance & Regulation Ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations and industry standards, including duty reporting Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails Support licensing and regulatory requirements for distilling operations Team Management Supervise and support administrative and operational staff Lead recruitment and training of team members Customer Experience & Gin School Operations Support the delivery of gin school experiences and customer bookings Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained Assist with event coordination and customer communications Key Skills & Experience Essential Proven experience in finance, bookkeeping, or accounts management Strong understanding of VAT, financial reporting, and reconciliations Experience in operations or office management Excellent organisational and multitasking skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Experience using accounting systems Desirable Experience in manufacturing, production, or distilling environments Knowledge of HMRC regulations relating to alcohol production Experience with stock control and production planning Team leadership or supervisory experience Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle Personal Attributes Proactive and hands on approach Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities Reliable, adaptable, and committed to business success What We Offer A varied and rewarding role within a growing, independent distillery Opportunity to play a key role in business operations and development Supportive and collaborative team environment Company pension scheme Staff discount
