About the Role Cross Works is seeking a talented Mobile App Developer to join our technology team. Successful applicants will work across multiple projects – including custom app development for high-profile international clients – to interactive, and robust mobile experiences that elevate user engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mobile app development, with a keen eye for user experience and detail. You should be a problem solver at heart, passionate about technology, and eager to explore new challenges – from visualisation tools to digital platforms and immersive experiences. This role is integral to developing custom touchscreen applications and mobile apps as part of complex architectural and urban design solutions. You will collaborate closely with Unreal Engine developers, Software Engineers, Urban Designers and Architects, to translate strategic goals into intuitive mobile platforms that work across devices and operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain native and cross-platform mobile applications.
- Build user-centric interfaces that integrate with data, visual content, and immersive user journeys.
- Translate UX/UI wireframes into functional, performant code with micro interactions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement app functionality that aligns with project goals, including VR/AR integrations and GIS-linked content or similar.
- Use APIs to connect the front-end experience with back-end systems (including Unreal Engine or web-based databases).
- Ensure app performance across a range of mobile devices, offline functionality, and stability.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in mobile app development using tools like React Native, or native Swift/Kotlin.
- Familiarity with back-end integration via RESTful APIs, Firebase, or GraphQL.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and ability to translate visual concepts into app interfaces.
- Experience deploying apps to App Store and Google Play, including familiarity with store submission processes.
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and mobile-related libraries and frameworks.
- Experience with Unreal Engine integration / Unity, or WebView embedding is a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and implementing background processes to enhance user experience.
- Comfortable working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.
Hiring Process: The hiring process will involve three stages: Introductory Round: A discussion to understand your experience and suitability for the role. Technical Round: A technical interview involving a skills assessment and a brief coding test. Cultural Fit Round: A final discussion to ensure alignment with our company values and team culture.
