Compensation, Schedule, Travel

  • Salary: $64,000+ (entry level), higher based on experience
  • Bonus: 5% annual bonus based on plant performance and safety
  • Schedule:
  • May–September: 7 days/week during growing season - Days or Weekends off requests provided on case by case basis
  • October–April: 4x10 schedule (Monday–Thursday)
  • Travel: As needed travel to WI, MN, and IL growing regions during season. Occasional overnight travel for training and meetings in off-season
  • Hours: Heavy field presence during season. Flexibility provided when time off is needed

    This role supports a large-scale food production operation tied directly to field agriculture and plant output. You will manage grower relationships, oversee planting through harvest, and ensure crops meet quality and production needs. This is a field-first role where you are expected to understand the land, the growers, and how to keep everything moving from start to finish. You are the connection between the field and the plant.

    What You Will Do

    • Manage grower relationships and support contract development
    • Provide fertilizer and spraying recommendations
    • Scout fields and identify issues early
    • Coordinate planting and harvesting schedules
    • Map fields and track crop data in internal systems
    • Align crop supply with plant production needs
    • Support harvest execution and logistics
    • Assist with oversight of interns, scouts, and harvest crews
    • Maintain accurate records of field activity and yields
    • Travel to support multiple growing regions as needed

    What You Need

    • Background in agriculture, agronomy, or farm operations
    • Experience working directly with crops or growers
    • Understanding of planting, growing, and harvest cycles
    • Ability to work long hours in field environments during peak season
    • Strong communication skills with growers and operations teams
    • Ability to manage multiple fields, growers, and priorities

    Preferred

    • Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator License or CCA (encouraged, not required)
    • Agronomy or crop science education

    • Exposure to field mapping or precision agriculture systems
