We are looking for an experienced and proactive Regional Operations Manager to lead our engineering operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Reporting directly to the UK Operations Director, you will manage a geographically dispersed team of Field Engineers, Depot Operators, and Driver Installers to deliver exceptional service, operational efficiency, safety, and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive productivity, optimise resource deployment, build high-performing teams, and embody our core values of Respect, Accountability, Teamwork, Commitment, and Integrity.
What Youβll Do:
- Lead, coach, and develop field-based teams to achieve daily targets, Right First Time (RFT) standards, and acceptable quality levels.
- Optimise daily engineer deployment for installations, deinstallations, maintenance, and service activities; coordinating with Boiler / Chiller Engineers, Depot Operators and Driver Installers.
- Oversee resource management β ensuring teams have the right PPE, tools, training, certifications, and equipment; maintain accurate hire fleet records and uphold depot standards.
- Conduct regular site visits, audits (van stock, vehicle inspections, paperwork checks), and in-depth reviews of daily debriefs to identify issues, resolve problems, and prevent RFT failures.
- Drive continuous improvement β identify challenges, develop solutions, implement action plans, and foster a culture of safety, quality, and innovation in line with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
- Manage people performance β create and review Personal Development Plans (PDPs), lead inductions, deliver coaching, and role-model the behaviours expected in our high-performance culture.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Team, Regional Sales Managers, and clients on complex projects, site surveys, pre-installation planning, and long-term relationship building.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, and company policies at all times.
What Weβre Looking For:
- Proven operations management experience in engineering, ideally within HVAC, temporary hire, or business-to-business service environments.
- Relevant qualifications (any of the following highly desirable): Gas Safe, OFTEC, F-Gas, 18th Edition, COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, COCNPI1LS, ICPN1, ICAE1.
- Strong people leadership skills with experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
- Hands-on approach with a track record of driving productivity, resource optimisation, and Right First Time performance.
- Analytical mindset β able to assess data from multiple sources, identify root causes, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
- Proficient IT skills for operational systems, reporting, and asset tracking.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
- Passion for customer service excellence, safety-first culture, and continuous improvement.
