Procurement Manager

Are you a commercially sharp procurement professional who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, negotiating better deals, and putting solid controls in place?
Cross Rental Services is looking for a Procurement Manager to take ownership of purchasing across all our UK sites. This is a hands-on role focused on strengthening controls, improving supplier terms, and ensuring compliance — while directly supporting operational teams, Events contracts, and capital projects. You’ll also line-manage one team member.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and embed a clear Delegation of Authority and drive consistent use of the purchase order system across every site
- Lead commercial negotiations to improve pricing, credit terms, rebates and dual-supply arrangements
- Oversee procurement for depots and Events contracts, working closely with operational teams to deliver on time and on budget
- Support CAPEX projects by sourcing equipment, tracking orders and monitoring spend against approved budgets
- Maintain strong supplier due diligence and audit trails in line with the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act and Bribery Act
- Guide stock levels and lead times, and ensure import/export compliance where required
- Line-manage, coach and prioritise the workload of one Supply Chain Administrator
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in a procurement or sourcing role
- Strong commercial negotiation skills and a track record of improving supplier terms
- Good understanding of purchasing controls, PO systems and budget tracking
- Ability to coordinate activity across multiple sites
- Natural ability to lead and develop a team member
- Knowledge of import/export requirements (desirable)
- Experience supporting project or event-based purchasing (desirable)
