This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to start a career in finance in a supportive and friendly environment. In this role you will support the Senior Credit Controller in managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, posting and allocating cash, resolving queries, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will communicate with customers about payments, monitor aged debt, and help reduce overdue balances while building positive client relationships. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who values accuracy and attention to detail, and who is keen to learn and take training from the wider finance team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to study towards AAT qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring customer accounts to ensure invoices are paid on time
- Contacting customers by phone and email about overdue payments
- Keeping accurate records of conversations and payment updates
- Helping to reconcile accounts and sort out payment queries
- Running and reviewing aged debt reports
- Supporting the credit control team with admin and paperwork
- Working with Sales and Customer Service to resolve billing issues
- Helping set up new customer accounts and carrying out basic credit checks
- Allocating incoming payments to the right accounts
- Assisting the wider Finance team at month-end, year-end and with ad-hoc tasks
What we’re looking for:
- An interest in finance or accounts
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Confident communicating by phone and email
- Professional and customer-focused attitude
- Comfortable using computers and willing to learn new systems
- Sage 200 experience is a bonus but not essential
- Proactive, enthusiastic and keen to develop
