As a production operative you will be working primarily within the Milling department, where you are required to achieve and maintain a high level of workmanship and quality. Operating a variety of machines with CNC control systems which include Heidenhain and Siemens producing Brush seals and their components. You may be required to undertake cross-training and provide support to other departments within the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that you comply with all company documentation, work instructions and policies relevant to the department.
- Produce parts that conform to the drawing requirements, following the defined work instructions and method of manufacture with approved programs.
- This will also include in process inspection following our defined OVP process using the relevant measuring equipment including VMR & CM M’s recording data as required.
- Ensuring all documentation including works order route cards and inspection DIP’s are completed and booked on the ERP system.
- Ensuring daily checks of the machines that you are using are carried out, reporting any faults to the supervisor or deputy supervisor.
- Ensure relevant PPE is worn adhering to the Health & Safety guidance and procedures.
- Ensure SS practices are followed.
- Supervisor/Deputy supervisor are informed and communicated with to keep them up to date with progress of work or issues that may arise.
- Ensure a detailed handover is provided when sharing work with fellow operators.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Previous CNC Milling experience.
- A recognised Engineering apprenticeship or time served experience.
- A good understanding of precision engineering machinery, equipment, and tools and their safe working practices.
- A proactive approach to work, be confident and efficient.
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and well organised.

- Starting from £16.76 per hour, depending on their qualification and experience level.
- This is a full time, permanent position that will be subject to a review period.
