Cross Cut Shredding Ltd is a family-run, BS EN 15713 compliant confidential waste company based in Yeovil. Since 2016, we have provided secure document destruction services to homes and businesses across Somerset and surrounding counties. We operate to strict security standards and pride ourselves on professionalism, reliability and excellent customer service.
The Role
This is a hands-on role combining driving, collections and warehouse duties. You will be responsible for:
- Driving a medium-sized company van
- Collecting confidential waste bags and secure consoles from customer premises
- Delivering shredding bags and secure consoles
- Loading and unloading materials safely and securely
- Moving secure consoles in and out of buildings
- Completing collection paperwork and compliance documentation
- Assisting with warehouse operations and shredding activities when not on collection routes
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks
This is not solely a driving role. It is a physically active position involving regular lifting and manual handling.
Physical Requirements
- Regular lifting of shredding bags (up to 15kg)
- Delivery and collection of various waste containers such as 140L/240L wheelie bins
- Moving and positioning secure document consoles
- Repeated loading and unloading throughout the day
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions

- Full security vetting will be carried out
- References are required
- DBS checks may be undertaken
- Applicants must be trustworthy, discreet and professional
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum 3 years' driving experience
- Confident driving a van
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically fit
- Professional and polite with customers
- Able to work independently and follow procedures
- Delivery, logistics, removals, warehouse or waste industry experience is desirable but not essential — training will be provided.
Hours & Structure
- 16 hours per week guaranteed
- Typically two full working days per week
- No weekend work
- Closed on bank holidays and during the Christmas period
- Additional hours may be available during busy periods but are not guaranteed
- 6-month probation period
