Our client is building a next-generation Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) to accelerate cloud adoption across a large, security-sensitive European environment. By developing a modern Internal Development Platform (IDP), they enable engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions faster.

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to become the technical expert behind our client's Internal Development Platform. This is not an operations or support role. You'll help shape platform architecture, develop reusable infrastructure components, advise engineering teams on cloud strategy, and drive platform innovation across a modern cloud ecosystem. Working alongside an experienced platform team, you'll influence architectural decisions while helping establish engineering standards for security, scalability, and reliability.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable infrastructure components on the Cycloid Internal Development Platform.
- Build and publish reusable service catalog components for engineering teams.
- Design, prototype, and validate new cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Ensure platform components meet security, availability, reliability, and operational standards.
- Advise engineering teams on cloud provider selection, infrastructure architecture, and platform best practices.
- Support provisioning and onboarding of new cloud environments.
- Collaborate with solution architects, project managers, and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
- Participate in Cloud Centre of Excellence initiatives and contribute to platform strategy.
- Produce high-quality operational and technical documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree (EQF Level 7 or equivalent).
- English proficiency (minimum B2).
- EU nationality and willingness to obtain the required security clearance.
- 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering large-scale AWS or Azure environments.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience with one or more sovereign cloud providers (Clever Cloud, STACKIT, Scaleway, or S3NS) using Terraform.
- Minimum 6 months of practical experience with Cycloid.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience designing reusable cloud platforms and infrastructure components.
- Proven ability to advise engineering teams on cloud architecture and infrastructure decisions.
- Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or IBM Cloud.
- Experience working in Cloud Centres of Excellence or Platform Engineering teams.
- Background in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL or enterprise change management practices.
