About the Role
We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and scale the distributed systems powering autonomous AI clinicians. This is a highly hands-on, Python-first engineering role focused on production systems, AI infrastructure, and large-scale backend architecture. You'll help shape technical direction while remaining deeply involved in implementation, partnering closely with founders and engineering teammates to solve complex, real-world healthcare challenges.
What You'll Do
- AI Platform Engineering;
- Design and scale AI agents for healthcare applications
- Build distributed backend systems supporting AI-driven clinical workflows
- Develop secure healthcare infrastructure for enterprise customers
- Work on LLM, reinforcement learning, and agent-based architectures
- System Architecture;
- Design scalable production architectures
- Improve reliability, scalability, and system performance
- Own critical engineering decisions across distributed systems
- Continuously optimize infrastructure and application performance
- Technical Leadership;
- Support engineers through code reviews and technical mentorship
- Drive engineering best practices and architecture discussions
- Collaborate closely with founders and product teams
- Help maintain a high engineering bar across the organization
- Product Development;
- Translate ambiguous product requirements into production systems

What We're Looking For
Must Have;
- 7+ years building production software systems
- Strong Python engineering experience
- Experience designing distributed systems at scale
- Excellent system design and architecture skills
