The Food Service Worker I has some assignments in production, serving, cleaning and sanitation. Assignments may vary on a day to day basis.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: TASN Certification Level 1
  • Special Knowledge/Skills: The ability to follow oral instructions. Ability to speak “limited” English.
  • Minimum Experience: None
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of vegetables, salads, meats, and/or baked items.
  • Assist with cashiering duties if necessary.
  • Work as a server on the serving line.
  • Assist in dish room, pot and pan areas; sweep and mop floors.
  • Assist in cleaning of equipment and the general kitchen/dining room areas.
  • May be asked to assume responsibilities of other absent employees.
  • Work schedule may be adjusted on an as needed basis.
  • Perform other assigned duties that may be required by the manager and/or the Director of Nutrition Services.
  • Maintain TASN certification level 1.
  • Employee is required to comply with all Crosby ISD HACCP policies and procedures.

Equipment Used: Various kitchen equipment.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: During your entire scheduled work hours you must be physically able to:

  • Stand and walk on hard surface floor unassisted
  • Walk briskly
  • Push and pull carts
  • Stoop bend, kneel, climb
  • Lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to load and unload products a maximum height of 60 inches
  • Climb a 6 foot ladder

Environment: Moderate to heavy exposure to hot/cold temperatures, steam wet floors and cleaning chemicals.
