The purpose of this role is to support the Paint Manager and the Paint-Shop in the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring that we work to the highest standards and meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Exterior polishing of parts, ensuring correct materials and tools are used.
- Ensuring finished parts are defect-free before shipping.
- Adhering to all requirements for hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
- Following work instructions.
- Understanding the preparation process required to achieve a high paint standard.
- Conducting quality checks on completion.
- Producing high-quality parts that meet customer requirements.
Skills
- Removing imperfections in paint.
- Flatting, polishing, and touch-up of parts.
- Confidence in using all necessary tools and equipment to achieve a polished part.
- Experience in carbon fibre prep an advantage.
- Preparation of raw parts for primer.
- Preparation of primer for topcoat.
- Ability to remove shape issues from a panel to give a flat surface.
- Ability to use filler for pinholes and voids.
Attributes
- Previous carbon fibre experience preferred.
- Experience in a high-pressure/fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the automotive or motorsport industry.
