Purpose of the job

This role is responsible for the day to day supervision of the trimming team, ensuring the department is working to meet customer needs, the correct quality standards of work and that departmental resources are supervised effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall execution and delivery of the production schedule for the department as a whole, ensuring the schedule is completed and any issues are escalated to the appropriate individuals.
  • Ensure trimmers have the required tools, information and guidance to complete job sheets every day, maximizing plan adherence and efficiency.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed on time, correctly to company/customer policy/procedures in an efficient manner.
  • Work with the team on a day to day basis, ensuring any delays are highlighted to the Operations Manager and a plan is put in place to catch up/cover off any delays.
  • Responsible for ensuring equipment is well checked, maintained and serviced according to company policy, rectifying any issues immediately and escalating as required.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
  • Ensure job sheets are marked off on time and accurately to WO’s issued/received.
  • Liaise with Inspection and Trim departments to ensure smooth production of current and future work.
  • Report any resource/material shortages to the Operations Manager or Production Managers.

Quality and Standards

  • Ensure all work is completed to the correct quality standard (both customer and company) at all times.
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager to debrief quality performance, issues, failures of process, corrective actions and ensure any actions are followed and resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Escalate any issues arising from moulds/process/manuals to the Operations Manager/PM/PE immediately and ensure these are dealt with.

People Management

  • Supervise trimmers daily, ensuring they are aware of their individual shift requirements, the work expected of them and the company policies and procedures.
  • Proactively encourage a teamwork environment.
