Purpose of the job: To support the department\’s transition to CATIA CAD software by designing tooling for composite components, managing CAD data, and collaborating with departments to resolve tooling issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and model patterns, moulds, and fixtures in CATIA
- Create technical tooling drawings for manufacturing and assembly
- Compare data files to identify differences
- Analyze models and customer requirements
- Support production with design information
Communication:
- Coordinate with Projects, Production, and Design teams to ensure project targets
- Use project notes and customer data to understand requirements
- Specify BOM items and develop departmental drawings/manuals
- Liaise with suppliers for quotes
Change Management:
- Communicate issues to Projects
- Define process changes and tooling requirements for changes
Skills:
- Proficient in CATIA
- Experience in tooling design
- Understanding of technical and laminate drawings
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
