We have opportunities for a Metrology Inspector to join our company at our Brackley site. We work to the highest standards and our Inspection team are a critical part of managing this and supporting the production areas.
This is a day shift, working Monday to Friday. Core hours are 8am to 4:30pm. We offer competitive rates of pay, company pension, 23 days holiday plus the bank holidays, private healthcare and the opportunity for overtime during peak periods
This position is primarily a Metrology / Dimensional Inspection role rather than a general Quality Inspector position but it will be benefiting for us to have someone who can do both
We are specifically looking for someone with hands‑on experience in Romer Arm operation and PolyWorks software, who can independently carry out probing, scanning, measurement, and dimensional inspection activities.
We are looking for an experienced Metrology Inspector to join our Inspection team. This is a hands‑on metrology role focused on the accurate measurement, inspection, probing, and scanning of components to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and required dimensional tolerances.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience using a Romer Arm and PolyWorks for inspection, probing, and scanning activities, together with experience using a range of precision metrology equipment and inspection techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out dimensional inspection of components using Romer Arms for probing and 3D scanning.
- Use PolyWorks to perform inspection, measurement, scanning, alignment, and dimensional analysis.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements to establish component conformity.
- Conduct accurate first-off, in-process, and final inspections as required.
- Use a variety of conventional and advanced metrology equipment to verify component dimensions and quality.
- Ensure inspection activities are completed accurately and within required production timescales.
- Produce clear and accurate inspection reports and maintain up-to-date inspection and quality documentation.
- Identify dimensional deviations and non-conformances and communicate findings to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams.
- Support investigations into dimensional and manufacturing issues, helping to identify root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve inspection issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the inspection and metrology function.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail in all inspection activities.
- Proven hands‑on experience as a Metrology Inspector, Dimensional Inspector, or similar role within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
- Practical experience using Romer Arms for probing and scanning is essential.
- Practical experience using PolyWorks for inspection and dimensional analysis is essential.
- Strong understanding of dimensional metrology and inspection techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Experience using a range of precision measurement and inspection equipment.
- Ability to analyse inspection data and produce accurate measurement reports.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical inspection findings to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams.
