The Role: Precision in Motion
As our newest Operator/Setter, you will be a key guardian of our production quality, ensuring our CNC Lathes and Machining Centres are running at peak performance. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Setting & Operating: Managing CNC Lathes, Machining Centres, and some conventional machinery to achieve cycle times and high‑quality standards.
- Quality Mastery: Performing rigorous dimensional checks using verniers, micrometres, and gauges against technical drawings.
- Process Ownership: Reporting equipment failings, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring 5S standards are maintained.
- Workflow Management: Coordinating with stores for daily booking‑in and ensuring a seamless flow of completed parts.
What We’re Looking For
We need a detail‑oriented professional who understands that in precision machining, every millimetre counts.
- CNC Experience: Proven background in setting up and operating CNC machinery.
- System Knowledge: Previous experience with Mazak systems is highly preferred, though we welcome skilled operators from various backgrounds.
- The Technical Eye: Ability to read dimensional drawings and record precise measurements on check sheets.
- Safety & Quality: A commitment to H&S standards and 5S housekeeping (knowledge of safe brass handling is a plus).
- Team Spirit: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a busy team.
