Production Team Leader – Manufacturing – Wolverhampton
We are looking for a results‑driven Production Team Leader for a permanent, full‑time role at our i54 Manufacturing Site in Wolverhampton. This position is split 50/50 between hands‑on production work and leadership. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead an operative team to ensure production targets are met regarding Safety, Quality, Quantity, and Cost. Casting experience is essential.
- Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 per annum
- Hours: 40 hours per week (Primary shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Team: Provide direct support and direction to operatives to achieve agreed production targets and deadlines.
- Operational Management: Ensure the team is ready to start production on time, run in accordance with KPIs, and complete pre‑start checks.
- Efficiency: Plan, organise, and manage labour resources to meet the Production Plan and work with management to drive departmental efficiency.
- Communication: Conduct pre‑shift Team Briefings to discuss KPIs, resolve issues, and report any immediate labour issues to the Shift Supervisor.
- Standards: Maintain strict Health, Safety, and Quality standards.
- Problem Solving: Analyse equipment issues within your area and organize or take immediate corrective action.
What You Need to Succeed (Essential)
- Experience: Proven track record in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Industry: Essential Casting experience.
- Leadership: Strong people management skills with the ability to drive performance and develop team members.
- Skills: Excellent organisational skills, strong written and verbal communication in English, and competence in operating computer software.
- Mindset: Results‑driven, confident, and able to accept responsibility and make informed decisions.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Ceramics Manufacturing or Lean methodologies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely).
