We are seeking a Principal Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) to lead our integrated Mental Health Team at HMP Garth, a Category B men's prison. This isn’t just a clinical role; it’s an opportunity to mentor a dedicated team (including a Clinical and Assistant Psychologist) and embed a trauma-informed model within a complex, rewarding environment.
The Impact You’ll Make
- Lead & Develop: Manage and supervise junior psychological staff while evolving site-specific services.
- Clinical Excellence: Deliver high-level assessments, complex formulations, and 1:1/group interventions via the 'Making Sense' programme.
- Expert Guidance: Provide clinical oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) and deliver specialist training to prison and healthcare staff.
- Innovate: Contribute to audits, research, and service evaluations to ensure we constantly do things better together.
What You’ll Need
- Registration: HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic).
- Specialism: Postgraduate training in relevant therapies (e.g., CBT, DBT, CAT, Schema, or Systemic).
- Experience: A proven track record in integrated mental health services and a deep understanding of the unique challenges within secure environments.
