EHSS Site Advisor – Manufacturing – Westerham, Kent (TN16)
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) Advisor to join our team in Westerham, Kent. This role is pivotal in leading the site-level delivery of our \’Elevate EHSS\’ agenda, acting as the primary subject matter expert, and ensuring full legal compliance. You will champion a strong safety culture, foster employee ownership, and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing site.

- Location: Westerham, Kent (TN16)
- Salary: Negotiable DOE & excellent benefits package
- Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time ( 40hrs a week, Monday to Friday)
What You Will Already Have (Essential)
- Certification: NEBOSH General Certificate is mandatory.
- Professional Status: TechIOSH (or higher) registration.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar UK-based EHSS role.
- Sector Knowledge: Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is essential.
- Legislation: Strong working knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Desirable Experience
- Environmental permit knowledge (e.g., water discharge/TSS).
- IEMA certificate in environmental management.
- BRC or HACCP
Key Responsibilities
You will be accountable for all aspects of EHSS, from governance and risk management to training and compliance.
Site Governance & Risk Management
- Conduct regular site audits against the ‘Critical 15’ standards and lead site-level risk reduction projects.
- Audit RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for suitability and compliance, and promptly elevate high-risk issues.
- Oversee and coordinate all statutory inspections and track follow-up actions to completion.
Operational EHSS Oversight
- Manage and coordinate monthly EHSS committee meetings.
- Ensure timely and accurate incident investigations are conducted in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Log and manage all EHSS activities and actions through the company\’s management system (OPUS).
- Audit EHSS compliance checks for contractors and maintain working relationships with external service providers.
Training & Competence
- Evaluate EHSS training needs and plan, deliver, and evaluate training for all managers and employees, including new starter inductions.
- Regularly review and update induction materials to ensure they remain site-specific and relevant.
Legal Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure the site maintains full legal compliance with all applicable UK EHSS regulations and permits.
- Monitor and report environmental, safety, and sustainability (ESG) data on a monthly basis.
- Cascade policy and regulatory changes to site management and affected stakeholders.
