Are you passionate about the emotional well-being of children and young people? Following an exciting expansion by NHS England, we are looking for 8 dedicated Trainees to join our North Cumbria Mental Health Support Teams (MHST).

As a Trainee EMHP, you won't just be studying; you’ll be making a tangible difference. You will deliver evidence-based, low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions directly within schools, helping pupils navigate the challenges of modern life.

Who We Are Looking For:
Essential:
- Demonstrable ability to work at a graduate/postgraduate academic level, e.g., minimum 2.2 degree
- Have relevant experience in child development or education, emotional well-being, and mental health.
Desirable:
- Have a postgraduate related qualification (i.e., Education, Childcare, Mental Health, Social Care, etc.)
- Experience working in a mental health setting or in education settings.
You don’t need a lifetime of experience, but you do need vision, empathy, and resilience. We welcome applications from those who have worked with children in formal or informal settings (e.g., volunteering, youth work, or education).
Key Requirements:
- The Drive to Learn: You must be able to secure a place at Northumbria University (we will support you through this).
- Communication: An ability to listen to and connect with young people.
- Awareness: An understanding of the issues facing vulnerable families, such as disadvantage and mental health barriers.
- Reliability: Excellent record-keeping skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
