Prisoner Custody Officer - Driver
Location: Birmingham (B66 1BZ), West Midlands
Salary: £26,676 (£13.50/hr) ➔ £29,640 (£15.00/hr) after 12 months + Overtime
Hours: Permanent | 38 hrs/week
Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence
The Role
Join our team transporting and supervising individuals in custody across courts, police stations, and prisons. You’ll play a critical role in keeping the justice system moving safely while treating everyone with dignity and respect.
- Escort, supervise, and safely transport prisoners.
- Conduct welfare checks, risk assessments, and maintain records.
- Liaise with police, court, and prison staff.
- Perform routine safety checks on fleet vehicles.
Who We’re Looking For
No custody or security experience needed— full paid training provided. We welcome backgrounds in customer service, care, retail, hospitality, logistics, or the armed forces.
- Calm, resilient, and clear communicator under pressure.
- Good judgement and high ethical standards.
- Basic physical fitness and willingness to complete MoJ Level 2 Vetting.
