We are proud to be working with one of the biggest independent care providers in the UK. They are seeking an experienced second chef to join their care home in Carmarthen. Are you a qualified Chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work-life balance and make what you do matter? Working as a Second Chef with our award winning client, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks.
What you'll do:
- Assist the Head Chef with menu creation
- Manage the kitchen in their absence
- Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest quality and standards
- Create a warm, efficient and fun environment
- Work within budget
- Complete regular audits
- Manage stock control
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Chef (City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent)
- Good understanding of HACCP
- Experienced with fresh, seasonal food
- Able to cater for large numbers and different dietary requirements
- Passionate about cooking and resident wellbeing
Desirable Criteria:
- Catering experience within a care home environment
