About us

Are you a highly organised, detail-oriented HR professional looking for your next opportunity in People operations? This could be the ideal role for you. Cronofy is looking for a HR Lead to join us on a maternity cover basis, supporting our COO to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our People function. Our People team is small and high-performing, supporting every corner of the business, from the people we employ across the UK and Netherlands, our EOR arrangements, as well as the day-to-day running of HR. This is a chance to own the full HR remit across multiple jurisdictions, shape how our people function operates, and take the next step in your HR career.

The role

We're looking for a capable HR generalist to provide maternity cover for our People team, supporting the business across the UK, Netherlands, and Employer of Record (EOR). This is a hands-on role covering the full employee lifecycle, HR systems, and day-to-day HR administration, ideal for someone confident taking full ownership of HR delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Lifecycle
    • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding across the UK, Netherlands, and EOR arrangements
    • Act as the main point of contact for line managers, providing day-to-day HR support and guidance
    • Serve as the first point of contact for HR queries from the team
  • HR Systems & Administration
    • Own and manage the HR system (HRIS), keeping employee records accurate and up to date
    • Manage the HR inbox, responding to and triaging queries in a timely manner
    • Provide general HR administration in support of the wider People function
    • Provide administrative support throughout the recruitment process
  • Policy & Compliance
    • Review and update HR policies to ensure they remain current and compliant
    • Act as the point of contact for external HR and legal advisors
  • Benefits & Insurance
    • Coordinate the annual renewal of employee benefits
    • Coordinate the annual renewal of relevant insurance policies
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
    • Support and help progress the organisation's DE&I initiatives
  • Health and Safety
    • Oversee Health and Safety regulations and compliance across our three offices

While this list is not exhaustive, you should expect to have visibility (and impact) in all areas of our People operations.

How you'll work

Our principles guide how we approach everyday. We work hard but insist that everyone considers the balance between work and their life and responsibilities outside. We are direct in our dealings with each other. We continuously work to build mutual trust so that we can give each other feedback without fear of it being taken personally. We can support a predominantly remote, office-based or hybrid working model. We do really value face-to-face time and, where circumstances allow, encourage teams to spend regular time together at suitable locations. As our current Business Operations team is based in Nottingham, the successful applicant should be based in, or within a reasonably commutable distance, to the Nottingham city centre.

What we offer

  • £32,040 – £45,720 actual for 3 days/week per annum (£53,400 - £76,200 per annum FTE) according to your experience
  • Pension scheme matched at 5%
  • 25 days holiday (full-time equivalent, pro rata) in addition to flexible national holidays. National holidays are added to your holiday allowance and you're not required to take them on the corresponding day
  • 6 personal development days per year (pro rata) to use for L&D, charitable causes, or similar
  • Private medical care with Bupa
  • Medicash Proactive cash plan for dental, optical, etc.
  • EAP - Employee Assistance Programme providing 24/7 mental health support
  • Extended maternity and paternity leave for new parents and adoption
  • Pleo card for work expenses, hardware, travel, etc.
  • A flexible approach to working: remote, office, or hybrid
  • A principles-driven culture that provides the framework for autonomous decision making and personal development
