London (Moorgate) | Hybrid Working | £100,000–£120,000 + Benefits

We are partnering with a Series B, PE-backed RegTech and advisory business on the appointment of its first dedicated Legal Counsel hire. The business operates across two core service lines:

  • A rapidly scaling SaaS platform focused on regulatory reporting and diagnostics within financial services
  • A boutique consulting and advisory practice supporting firms across operational resilience, risk, compliance, and regulatory change

Founded by leaders from Big 4 consulting and the financial services risk space, the organisation has experienced significant growth since launch, more than doubling headcount in recent years. The business works closely with financial institutions to help navigate increasingly complex regulatory expectations and reporting obligations. This is a newly created, standalone legal position offering broad exposure across both the technology and consulting sides of the business. The successful individual will act as the key in-house legal voice and business partner, working closely with the Co-Founders and senior leadership team.

This role would suit a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys autonomy, can operate independently, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced scaling environment without significant handholding. You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting SaaS contracting and technology-related matters
  • Advising on consulting agreements, statements of work, and strategic partnerships
  • Acting as an escalation point for contractual and legal risk matters
  • Supporting the ongoing development and modernisation of legal documentation and processes
  • Partnering closely with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business

The position offers genuine breadth and visibility, with regular interaction with the Co-CEOs and leadership team.

Candidate Profile

  • England & Wales qualified solicitor with approximately 4–5 years’ PQE
  • Strong commercial contracts background gained either in-house or in private practice
  • Experience within SaaS, technology, FinTech, consulting, or other fast-paced environments is highly desirable
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a standalone legal role
  • Commercially pragmatic with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Able to balance legal risk with operational realities
  • Academic background from a well-regarded university preferred
