A respected and growing law firm is seeking a Care Paralegal to join its established Children Law team based in Hounslow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about public family law and care proceedings to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced legal environment. The successful candidate will provide legal and administrative support to solicitors handling Children Act matters, predominantly care proceedings, while assisting vulnerable clients through sensitive and complex cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting solicitors on care proceedings and Children Act matters
  • Managing client enquiries and maintaining regular client communication
  • Taking instructions from clients and preparing legal documentation
  • Drafting statements, applications, and correspondence
  • Liaising with courts, counsel, experts, local authorities, and third parties
  • Assisting with case preparation, file management, and compliance
  • Attending meetings with clients and professionals where required
  • Supporting advocacy preparation where appropriate

Requirements

  • Previous experience within Care or Family Law preferred
  • Understanding of Children Law and legal aid processes
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Professional and empathetic approach to client care
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage deadlines
  • Confident IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification advantageous
