An established multi-office law firm is looking to recruit a Care Paralegal to join its busy Bedford office. This role would suit a motivated and compassionate individual with experience or a strong interest in public family law and care proceedings.

Working closely with experienced solicitors, the successful candidate will assist on a varied caseload involving Children Act matters and provide both legal and administrative support within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting solicitors with care proceedings and public family law matters
  • Preparing legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence
  • Attending client meetings and taking instructions
  • Liaising with courts, counsel, local authorities, and external agencies
  • Managing file administration and ensuring compliance requirements are met
  • Assisting with legal aid applications and billing processes
  • Providing high levels of client care and support throughout proceedings
  • Supporting the wider team with administrative and legal tasks where required
About You
  • Previous paralegal experience within Care, Family, or Public Law desirable
  • Knowledge of legal aid funding processes advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Professional, reliable, and client-focused approach
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
