Crone Corkill are assisting a long standing, established client as they look to hire an Azure Engineer on an initial 6 month fixed term contract. This is an essential hire as they add someone to the team who can provide genuine subject matter expertise with Azure as they migrate business critical workloads into the Cloud.

Due to the importance of the role in developing and implementing Cloud migration strategies, you’ll be in regular communication with teams across IT, including InfoSec, Platform Engineering and Business Transformation.

What will you do as an Azure Engineer?

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Cloud infrastructure using Azure services
  • Provide e2e support for the migration using Azure Migrate where necessary
  • Manage the migration lifecycle - assessment, planning, replication, testing, cutover and validation
  • Support, develop and enhance Cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning/testing, whilst implementing security measures to protect against IT security threats – ensuring ongoing compliance throughout
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshooting any issues
  • Assist with vulnerability and endpoint management
  • Set up Azure Cost Management alerts (notify owners/shut down dev environments when spending exceeds threshold)
  • Apply Azure Policies that prevent the creation of non compliant resources
  • Embed Infrastructure changes into Azure pipelines
