How you'll help us make health happen. As Head of Theatre Services, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care across our Theatre, Endoscopy and Sterile Services departments. Providing strategic, operational and clinical leadership, you'll ensure our services are safe, efficient and patient‑centred, while maintaining the highest standards of governance, quality and regulatory compliance. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll drive service excellence, improve patient outcomes and support the continued growth and success of the hospital. You'll also act as our Decontamination Lead, ensuring robust oversight of sterilisation services and infection prevention standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of safe, effective and efficient Theatre, Endoscopy and Sterile Services.
  • Drive high standards of patient care, clinical quality and service performance.
  • Lead, develop and support multidisciplinary teams, including workforce planning and performance management.
  • Act as Decontamination Lead, ensuring regulatory compliance and best practice standards.
  • Oversee clinical governance, risk management, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage departmental resources and budgets to support efficient service delivery.

Key Skills / Qualifications:

Essential

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Significant theatre or surgical services experience.
  • Proven leadership experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and team leadership skills.

Desirable

  • Leadership or management qualification.
  • Private healthcare experience.
  • Budget and resource management experience.
