Paediatric Staff Nurse (Skyline Department) Cromwell Hospital - London SW5 0TU (5 mins walk from Earls Court underground or 7 mins walk from Gloucester Road underground). Full time - 37.5 hours per week. Paying up to £46,890 per annum depending on experience.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Staff Nurse who provides high quality patient care and works in line with the hospital's values and in accordance with professional regulations. You will be able to manage your own workload effectively and efficiently as well as being a supportive team player. As a Paediatric Staff Nurse, you will work in line with local and national policies, regulations, protocols, and guidelines to provide safe quality care. You will need to have excellent communication skills utilising these with patients, visitors, and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
What you'll do:
- As part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering a high standard of holistic family centred care to children and their families, you will provide the highest standard of nursing care through ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe and effective care.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised quality patient care.
- Ensure nursing practice is of the highest standard in line with Cromwell Hospital Policies, CQC requirements, and NMC standards.
- Supply and administer medication safely in line with hospital policy.
- Assess and support patients with their adherence and understanding of their medication.
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team and collaboratively ensure appropriate care is provided.
- Escalate appropriately following the appropriate pathway, any concerns that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the patients in your care.
- Report incidents, complaints, and compliments to include near misses on the datix system using the SBAR approach.
- Respect people's rights to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Maintain people's right to dignity, privacy, and confidentiality whilst under care at Cromwell Hospital.
- Take on extra duties and responsibilities as delegated, and work within the scope of your professional practice, being aware of your own capability and limitations.
- Keep clear and accurate records, following NMC standards of documentation.
