Role Overview
As the Medical Secretary you will be responsible for providing secretarial expertise to the Consultants and prioritising their workload accordingly, ensuring that a high quality of service is delivered to patients, staff, and consultant users.
What you will do:
- File all correspondence, test results and referral letters into the patient’s notes before returning to medical records.
- Receive telephone messages and relevant queries.
- Send/receive faxed messages and relay promptly to the doctor concerned.
- Request patient information from outside organisations.
- Promote good relations with referring clinicians, other hospital departments and outside organisations to ensure that the reputation of the OPD Secretariat and the hospital are upheld.
- Liaise with appropriate departments e.g. pathology, radiology, medical records, outpatient reception and appointments office.

- Previous experience as a Secretary within the Private Healthcare sector.
- Good communication skills.
