Full time - 37.5 hours a week (Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 8pm. 1 Saturday once a month, Saturday hours are 9am to 2pm)

Role Overview

You will provide and maintain efficient administrative and reception services for the Radiology Department, ensuring that a high quality service is delivered to patients, staff and Consultants. You'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

  • Ensuring all customers are dealt with in a professional manner and all queries are dealt with efficiently - over the telephone and email.
  • Taking bookings for Diagnostic Imaging examinations and giving patients precise and accurate preparation instructions.
  • Taking and giving accurate information over the telephone and maintaining an efficient telephone manner.
  • Advising the Administration Lead of any problems within the department and handling minor complaints with immediate action and thorough follow up.
  • Ensuring that effective booking, information, reporting and filing systems are maintained and developed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Checking General area/CT/MRI charges for the previous day, adding issues on Compucare for inpatients.
  • Checking bookings scheduled for the following day and obtaining request forms to ensure efficient patient journey.
  • Creating and maintaining good working relationships with all members of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, liaising regularly with the Administration Manager to form a cohesive team, working together to provide an exemplary service.
  • Promoting good relations with referring clinicians, other hospital departments and outside organisations to ensure that the reputation of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and the Bupa Cromwell Hospital is upheld.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Experience in Administration within a healthcare environment.
  • Experience within radiology is desirable.
  • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Articulate and polite.
  • Organisational skills - meeting deadlines and prioritising workloads.
  • Confident and able to work under pressure.
  • Natural ability to empathise with patients and demonstrate genuine care.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
