Permanent, Full Time 37.5 hours per week between Monday-Sunday (8am-8pm)

Our diabetes and specialist services offer customers fast access to diagnosis, treatment, and support when they need it, as well as onward pathways to high quality care at Bupa's Cromwell Hospital.

What you'll do:

  • As Clinical Unit Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a diverse clinical workforce, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care across adult and paediatric pathways.
  • You will champion clinical governance, drive service improvement, and foster a culture of learning and accountability.
  • This role requires a confident and experienced leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment.
  • You’ll also work collaboratively with consultants, governance teams, and operational colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and regulatory compliance.
  • Your leadership will be key to maintaining high standards and supporting the continuous development of our clinical teams.

You'll help us make health happen by:

  • Acting as a visible and credible senior leader across clinical teams
  • Driving a culture of excellence aligned with London Medical's values
  • Mentoring emerging leaders and supporting succession planning
  • Representing clinical services in senior leadership forums
  • Leading initiatives to improve quality, patient experience, and operational efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC, NMC, MHRA, and other regulatory standards
  • Managing incidents, complaints, and investigations with clear action planning
  • Leading infection prevention and control (IPC) and clinical audit programmes
  • Overseeing daily operations, staffing, and patient flow
  • Managing recruitment, training, appraisals, and performance
  • Providing expert leadership in adult and paediatric care
  • Collaborating with consultants and MDTs to ensure seamless care
  • Chairing governance and risk meetings and maintaining risk registers
  • Designing competency‑based training programmes and supporting professional development
  • Supporting budget management and workforce optimisation
  • Ensuring billing and documentation meet clinical and commercial standards

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Essential: Registered Nurse (RN) with active NMC registration
  • Significant experience in outpatients/day case procedures
  • Proven leadership in healthcare settings
  • Strong communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience in incident handling and conflict resolution
  • Previous managerial experience
