This position is responsible for leading team members working across the distribution centre, championing an exceptional customer experience, and driving process development, standardisation, and financial metrics. The objective is to drive engagement and develop a culture of safety.
Role Responsibilities
- Drive a culture of safety by ensuring that team members are aware of and understand their responsibility for themselves and others, by role modelling safe behaviours and identifying and reporting risks and opportunities for improvement in safe working practices.
- Lead team members to ensure performance meets or exceeds the commitment of our service promise to customers, and expectations of productivity and quality.
- Coach & mentor team members on team/individual performance, safety and quality.
- Ensure team member compliance to SOP/Standard work and actively participate in standard work team member audits.
- Ensure all duties within your direct area of responsibility are conducted to the required standards and completed in a timely manner, resolving common issues through knowledge of departmental procedures.
- Utilise knowledge of warehouse processes to resolve day-to-day issues in an effective and efficient manner.
- Liaise with other members of the warehouse management team to ensure all daily operational tasks are covered and are completed in line with expected service levels.
- Support DC leadership in goal setting, day to day and short-term operational requirements, people leadership and resource planning.
- Maintain team awareness through regular team briefings.
- Maintain team compliance with all quality, legal and ethical standards.
- Ensure the highest standard of warehouse housekeeping and maintenance of company assets is achieved.
- Report on progress against pre-agreed objectives and any project work to support improvements in performance.
- Participate in DC talent review.
- Provide input to warehouse budget, including staffing and overtime expenses, equipment procurement and maintenance, and facility repair.

- Participate in projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture that involves all team members and encourages teamwork, driving change that improves safety, process, engagement and DC financial goals.

- A strong focus on a "don’t walk by" culture by driving near miss reporting with the aim of continuously reducing lost time accidents and creating a RIDDOR-free environment.
