Cromwell Medical Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Band 5 Registered Nurse Endoscopy to join one of our leading NHS clients in Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Endoscopy nurse to work within a specialised endoscopy unit, providing high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and bronchoscopy.
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, including pre-procedure assessments and consent verification.
- Assist endoscopists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition throughout procedures and recovery.
- Administer prescribed medications, including sedation, analgesia, and reversal agents, in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Recognise and respond promptly to complications such as bleeding, perforation, or adverse reactions.
- Provide post-procedure care, monitoring recovery and ensuring safe discharge in line with protocols.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care.
