Description
We are currently recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools in Croydon, with opportunities available for an immediate start.
This is a great opportunity for Teaching Assistants with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to work within a friendly, supportive and welcoming school environment.
Both full-time and ad hoc opportunities are available, providing flexibility depending on your availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with their learning and development
- Provide one-to-one or small-group support where required
- Assist pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs
- Help implement individual learning and support plans
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
- Support pupils in accessing classroom activities
- Work closely with teachers and other school staff
- Provide appropriate emotional and pastoral support
- Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Assist with classroom activities and daily routines
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Follow school safeguarding and health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role
- Experience working with children with SEN/SEND
- Understanding of additional learning needs and support strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, caring and supportive approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
