What you’ll do:
- Provide high quality physical and psychological care with compassion.
- Confidently and safely communicate patients care needs.
- Have the courage to speak up and a commitment to be a patient advocate.
- Participate in the delivery of a consistent, safe service in all aspects of the patient journey while demonstrating a culture of customer service.
- Manage care of allocated patients.
- Demonstrate professional awareness and accountability.
- Act as a Link Nurse in a designated area reporting to and from meetings / training updates.
- Recognise the needs for DOL’s assessments, mental capacity assessment and simple and complex safeguarding referrals and highlight any concerns.
- Liaise with the Support Services to ensure all non-clinical needs are met including cultural, sexual, religious, and any other special needs of the patients.
- Have a working knowledge of emergency policies including cardiac arrest and fire.
- Deputise for the Senior Staff Nurse in their absence.
- Undertake clinical duties in any area reasonably requested ensuring that you practice within your professional competencies and abilities.
- Relate to the sister /Charge Nurse/Lead Nurse in regard to professional issues.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all Consultants, ensuring individual Consultant protocols are utilised.
What you’ll bring:
- Registered General Nurse and NMC PIN required.
- First level registration.
- ILS certification.
- Experience in a similar oncology setting (desirable).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Experience in risk assessment.
- Competent with venepuncture and wound care management.
