Permanent / Contract: Permanent

Salary range: up to £57751 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Full time/part time: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. (3 long days as part of a rolling roster). Additional Information: The department is open at weekends with shifts allocated on an overtime basis.

About The Cromwell Hospital: The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London receiving both UK and international patients. We are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare outpatient and inpatient service care. The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, theatres, medical and surgical wards, cardiac centre, CDU, level 2 and 3 full intensive care facilities, paediatrics, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, a dedicated day surgery unit, and a new cath lab.

Our new modern Radiography department is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology to include:

  • One fluoroscopy suite, which can also be utilised as an additional X-Ray room
  • One Cone Beam CT scanner
  • One Bone Density scanner with advanced body composition analysis capabilities
  • Four theatre image intensifiers

You’ll help us make health happen by:

Reporting to the Superintendent Radiographer, you will provide high standards of service to our patients. The department is extremely busy therefore you’ll be organised, proactive, and able to work well under pressure in a complex environment, having adaptability and sensitivity to work within a diverse environment. You will have significant post qualification experience as an MRI Radiographer (evident on your CV).

Some of the duties to include:

  • Deputise for the Superintendent Radiographer as appropriate.
  • To work flexible hours when required to accommodate changing workload patterns MRI.
  • You’ll be primarily based at the Cromwell Hospital, but must also be flexible to work at the Basinghall Clinic only when necessary.
  • To develop and maintain staff rotas to ensure appropriate staff coverage on the respective scanner.
  • To supervise the professional standards and operational management of the rotating staff and their training in the respective scanner, ensuring a consistent level of service is maintained.
  • To perform high quality examinations as required by referring Physicians, in line with departmental policies and procedures whilst ensuring that all patients being investigated receive a high standard of care.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is not breached.
  • Report all incidents.
  • You’ll be familiar with and observe the Local Rules pertaining to radiation protection (IRMER 2017) and the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 for the protection of persons against ionising radiation arising from any work activity.
  • To be familiar with the Safety Guidelines - MHRA Guidelines.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • BSc or DCR in Radiography (essential)
  • Substantial MRI experience (essential)
  • It would be desirable to be competent to operate Philips and/or Siemens MRI systems.
  • Demonstrable experience in Contrast MRI (essential)
  • Cannulation
  • Ability to work under pressure and direct and achieve results.
