Responsibilities

• Lead the Pharmacy Systems team, reporting to the Chief Pharmacist and working with other department leaders.
• Manage Pharmacy digital systems for pharmacy services and the hospital to enable safe patient care, efficient stock maintenance, and adherence to pharmacy service agreements and pricing contracts.
• Support drug dictionary validations for critical care (Phillips ICCA).
• Work closely with IT to ensure continued functioning of all Pharmacy systems and lead on pharmacy system integration and upgrade projects.
• Produce accurate departmental financial reporting for KPI/Management Accounts and the Executive Team.
• Train staff on all Pharmacy IT systems and ensure effective use.
• Consult with financial auditors and stock takers on stockholding and ordering processes.
• Maintain pharmacy archive function, ensuring prescriptions/archived pharmacy documentation are stored appropriately.
• Consult clinical pharmacists and ward/clinical department managers to keep non‑Pyxis stock items updated at appropriate levels.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Pharmacy Informatics within a hospital setting (NHS or private).
• Leadership experience, managing a team and supervising and training staff.
• Strong IT skills, ability to learn innovative technologies with minimal supervision.
• Analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues and analyse financial drug expenditure.
• Experience with EPMA, Ascribe, Pyxis, and electronic QMS systems is desirable.
• System Manager trained Ascribe and BD Pyxis is desirable.
