Hours: Full‑Time, 37.50 hours per week

You’ll help us make health happen by:

  • Developing the technical electrophysiology service ensuring high standard of patient care to those undergoing electrophysiology studies/ablations.
  • Working closely with electrophysiology cardiologists and multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders.
  • Assisting in diagnosis and treatment of simple and complex cardiac arrhythmias using EP systems (Bard, Micropace) and 3D mapping system (Carto V7).
  • Being exposed to operating and performing Cryo ablation for AF/PVI procedures over time.

Interventional Procedures:

  • LHC and PCI (haemodynamic monitoring and reporting).
  • Coronary assessment ie FFR/IFR-RFR, IVUS, and IVL.
  • Support TAVI, other valvuloplasty Closure Device procedures (ASD, PFO, LAA) and occasional RHC.

CRM Procedures:

  • Skilled and comprehensive knowledge of CRM Implantation and follow‑up.
  • Box Change, Upgrade/Downgrade, Lead intervention, and other CRM related procedures with exposure/awareness of left bundle, leadless and HIS pacing.

Arrhythmia Therapies:

  • Competent and highly skilled in Electrophysiological studies & Ablation.
  • Able to operate Bard LSPRO with Micropace with independence, and perform diagnostic EP Study and ablation.
  • Competent using Carto 3D mapping system for simple and complex atrial arrhythmias, SVT and VEs.
  • Able to operate Cryo ablation system to perform atrial arrhythmias.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Highly developed specialist knowledge acquired through training as a Clinical Physiologist.
  • Extensive experience in a wide range of invasive techniques involved in the assessment and therapy provision for patients with cardiac disease, specifically in complex electrophysiology including 3D mapping.
  • Able to perform a range of specialist diagnostic investigations on patients in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Experience in day‑to‑day supervision of staff.
  • Ability to lead and take part in audit or research projects.
  • Undertakes testing and trials of clinical equipment.
  • Evidence of highly developed written and oral communication skills in English in a variety of settings.

Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) in Clinical Cardiac Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or PTP equivalence.
  • At least one certification for Electrophysiology and CRM British Society Heart Rhythm for Cardiac Rhythm Management Devices or Electrophysiology International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners for Certified Electrophysiology Specialist or Certified Cardiac Device Specialist.
  • Evidence of maintaining relevant Continuing Professional Development.
  • ILS - Immediate Life Support Course.
