As our new

Accounting Manager , you'll lead the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting while developing a high-performing Accounting team.

Combining hands-on accounting with people leadership, you'll take ownership of key areas of the month-end close and ensure our financial reporting is accurate, well controlled and delivered to a consistently high standard.

You'll also play an important role in transforming how our Accounting team operates.

Working closely with Finance Business Partners, FP&A, Data & Systems and operational stakeholders, you'll challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate our accounting processes.

You'll have the autonomy to challenge how we work today, develop the team and build simpler, stronger and more efficient accounting processes.

Some of your key responsibilities

  • Own and lead the month end close process,, ensuring accurate financial reporting is delivered within agreed deadlines.
  • Take ownership of key balance sheet and P&L areas, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, providing clear analysis and commentary on key movements, risks and issues.
  • Lead, coach and develop Management Accountants and Assistant Accountants, empowering the team to take ownership, challenge existing ways of working and continuously improve how we operate.

Strengthen financial controls and accounting processes, ensuring policies and standards are consistently applied across the business.

  • Drive simplification, standardisation and automation, reducing manual processes and improving the efficiency and quality of financial reporting.
  • Partner with FP&A, Finance Business Partners, operational teams and wider Finance functions to provide accounting guidance, resolve issues and support transformation initiatives.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience leading, coaching or mentoring colleagues within a finance or accounting team.
  • Strong experience managing month-end close and delivering accurate financial reporting to deadline.
  • A proven track record of improving accounting processes, controls and ways of working.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience simplifying, standardising or automating finance processes.

Strong stakeholder management skills, alongside advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
