We are looking for a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join Cromwell Community College, a large and inclusive secondary school serving its local community in Cambridgeshire. This role plays a vital part in ensuring continuity of learning, supervising pre-prepared lessons, maintaining positive behaviour and creating a focused environment where pupils can succeed. Working closely with teaching and support staff, the Cover Supervisor contributes to the rhythm of school life, from classroom supervision to breaktime support. We welcome someone who is calm under pressure, organised and committed to helping young people stay engaged and make progress.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise pre-prepared lessons, ensuring pupils remain on task and learning continues in teachers’ absence
  • Manage pupil behaviour and maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress, behaviour and any issues arising
  • Prepare and clear learning environments, ensuring resources are ready and used effectively
  • Support wider school supervision, including exams, breaktimes and educational visits as required
