Hours: 9.15 - 3.15 (27 hours 30 minutes per week - half an hour lunch)

Crofton Infant School are seeking a caring and reliable Healthcare Assistant to support the health, wellbeing and safeguarding of pupils in a busy school environment. You will provide first aid, administer medication, support children with medical needs, and work closely with staff, parents and healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective care. The role requires sensitivity, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare, with training provided where needed.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Providing first aid and responding to medical needs throughout the school day
  • Supporting pupils with additional or complex medical conditions, including administering medication
  • Caring for unwell pupils and liaising with parents/carers and healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records of accidents, illnesses and medical interventions
  • Managing first aid supplies, medical equipment and medication safely
  • Developing and implementing individual healthcare plans for pupils
  • Supporting health monitoring and reporting, including notifiable illnesses
  • Promoting a safe, respectful and supportive environment for all children
